IN LOS ANGELES
COUNTY
Los Angeles County holds 88 incorporated cities, and 1,168 laundromats sit inside the city of Los Angeles alone out of 3,412 across California. A customer picks by the five-minute drive, which means the store four neighborhoods away is not your competition. The two on the same boulevard are.
/ THE PROBLEM
WHY LA RANKINGS
STALL
Ranking for the county is the wrong ambition. Nobody searches for a laundromat by county name. They search a neighborhood, a cross street, or they let the phone decide with “near me”, and Google answers with relevance, distance and prominence. In a county of nearly ten million residents, you cannot move the store, so the work is narrower and more useful than a county page: win the city, then the corridor.
01
THE COUNTY TERM IS NOT A KEYWORD
Search here is neighborhood-level. A page built on the county name competes against every store in the region and answers nobody's actual question. City and corridor pages carry the intent, which is where our local SEO work starts.
02
EIGHT MILES IS A DIFFERENT MARKET
Long Beach, Pasadena and Van Nuys have separate competitors, separate review baselines and separate price expectations. One page stretched across all of them reads as thin in each, whichever kind of laundry business you run.
03
SINGLE-OWNER STORES SET THE BASELINE
84% of California laundromats are single-owner operations rather than parts of a brand inside a $1.2 billion state market, and most have never finished claiming a profile. That is the opening. Getting the Business Profile right is usually the fastest thing we can move.
04
MULTI-SITE OPERATORS COMPETE WITH THEMSELVES
Two stores nine miles apart sharing one page means Google picks one and the other stays invisible. Each eligible storefront needs its own profile and a page with genuinely different information on it, not the same copy with the city swapped.
/ THE WORK
HOW WE WORK
LOS ANGELES
We run the same operational checklist in every market, Maricopa County in Arizona included. Los Angeles County points it at incorporated city boundaries and the commuter corridors that cut across them. The closest published proof we have is not in this county: The Laundry Depot, an attended self-service store in El Cajon, San Diego County, went from roughly 20 to 270 monthly organic clicks in two months, read in Search Console before and after.
01
CITY PAGES, NOT COUNTY PAGES
One page for each city you actually serve, carrying its own hours, machine mix, parking and directions. The same build works for laundromats and dry cleaners.
02
A PROFILE FOR EVERY BOULEVARD
Each eligible storefront claimed and categorized on its own. In a county with this much turnover, listings left behind by a previous owner are common, and those get resolved before anything else ships.
03
CORRIDOR QUERY SETS
Keywords built around the drive rather than the city limit. A store sitting on a boundary pulls from both sides of it, and the query set should say so instead of pretending the line matters.
04
THE DROP-OFF CUSTOMER SPLITS OFF
Machine hunters want hours and payment. Bag droppers want price and turnaround. Wash and fold earns a page of its own and a separate booking route.
05
REVIEWS THAT NAME THE NEIGHBORHOOD
A review process per store. A county-wide average tells somebody choosing between two places in Torrance nothing at all. Run as reputation work.
06
REPORTING BY STORE
Map impressions, direction requests and profile calls, attributed to the location that earned them. What that costs is published on the pricing page; the audit that precedes it costs nothing.
/ QUESTIONS
- Do I need a page for every city we serve?
- Only where you have something different to say. A page for a city you genuinely serve, with its own hours, parking, machine mix and directions, earns its place. Ten near-identical pages with the city name swapped do not, and Google is good at spotting the difference.
- How long before we rank in Los Angeles?
- There is no honest fixed answer. Profile and technical corrections can ship in the first month. Movement depends on the starting point, how many stores compete inside your catchment, and what is already in market. We report leading indicators rather than promise a date.
- We run three stores. One website or three?
- One website, one page per storefront, one Google Business Profile per eligible location. Three separate sites split the authority you are trying to build and create duplicate content between your own properties.
- Do you work outside Los Angeles County?
- Yes. We work with laundry operators across the United States, and Los Angeles County is where the California demand concentrates. Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino operators run into the same fragmentation problem and the approach transfers.
